Virtual Reality
Virtual reality is a computer simulated environment that people can interact with using special equipment. It has been gaining a lot of traction in popularity with VR cafes popping up in malls all over the world. People play video games or visit different parts of the world using VR, but does technology like this have a place in public libraries? It might not seem like but I think it does. I think it offers a new unique way for library users to experience information and learn new things, according to Hannah Pope of American Libraries, “Many libraries have adopted both as educational and exploratory tools”. Having VR in libraries also allows people that cannot afford that technology to experience it. It would also allow for libraries to offer new programming that is immersive and unique.
