Libraries in the Digital Age

 

    The role of libraries in society is to support the needs of the community, largely through the equitable distribution of information. As society changes, the way that the library fulfills its role changes as well. Neil Gaiman says, "Google can bring you back 100,000 answers. A librarian can bring you back the right one." In Libraries in the Information Age, Denise K. Fourie says, "The rising challenge for library workers is to help users not only find information, but also [to evaluate] its usefulness and reliability."
